The Chicago Cardinals won nine and lost three in 1947, winning their second NFL Championship. The team was lead by Elmer Angsman, Charley Trippi, Paul Christman and Pat Harder, who formed the Cardinals' 'Million Dollar Backfield.' The Chicago Cardinals defeated the Eagles in the 1947 NFL Championship game 28-21 at Comiskey Park. This was what the players received in 1947. Many years later they were awarded a commemorative ring at a reunion for the championship. Charm is in remarkable, near-mint condition. We believe this charm is either 10K or 14K gold. We wanted to get it tested but, because of its remarkable condition, the consignor did not want to change the condition of having it tested. The charm reads, 'Chicago Cardinals, World Champions' in relief above and below the raised stitches, which are flanked by '1947' in relief. Beneath this is engraved 'Gene Kessler.' Kessler was a sports writer. Pendant measures just under 1 inch across. If you collect quality items, this is an item that we do not believe that you will be able to upgrade.
