The NBA Skills Challenge, officially named The Taco Bell Skills Challenge (current sponsor) is a contest held on the Saturday before the annual NBA All-Star Game as part of the All-Star Weekend. First held in 2003, it is a competition to test ball-handling, passing and shooting ability. In the current version of the contest, two participants race against each other on identical courses by first dribbling between five obstacles while running down the court. Dwyane Wade is a two-time winner (back to back) and this is the exact trophy he was presented in 2007 when he beat Kobe Bryant in the finals and won the competition for the second straight season.
The 24 inch high trophy features a silver basketball that sits atop a polished wood base, with silver nameplate at the front noting “PlayStation Skills Challenge Champion, NBA All-Star 2006, Saturday, February 18, 2006.” Purchased from Wades EX-wife Siohvaughn Funches letter is not signed but will include copies of letters signed on rings showing items came direct from her.
